Good post! You said The extraordinary ability of Augustus to restore order and stability to Rome was his deference to the people of Rome. Even though he had the power of Princeps, he did not abuse that power. Yes, he did not let people know his main aim that it was to change the regime from the Republic one into a tyrannical one. Why was he slow, or why did he take it so slow to change the regime and put a centralized government in State? It might be a bad historical incident that his step-father Julius Caesar was assassinated because of an aim to change the regime. What do you think?
