As a former homeschooled high school student, the process of graduating for me is somewhat different than it is for public schooled students. Attending Tri-C's ABLE class is a necessary step in my graduation and college prep process. Taking these classes will guide me in the process of being able to enroll in Tri-C, and is an important factor in a variety of the steps I need to take in order to achieve that goal.

One of the reasons I am attending this class is to refresh my memory and make sure my knowledge is up-to-date, so I can pass the GED. Passing the GED is crucial to getting on track towards taking Tri-C classes starting sometime next year. This has been a goal of mine, and taking these classes will

“Why I Chose Southwest” As a homeschooled high school senior, I am unable to take Advanced Placement courses, which are college-level classes taken at a high school. Students earn college credits by taking an exam at the end of the year. To remedy this, I decided to register at Southwest Tennessee Community College for dual enrollment classes. I chose Southwest for a multitude of reasons: to complete my high school education, to provide challenging courses in preparation for college, and to grant me college credit. I opted to take Pre Calculus, English Composition, and Anatomy & Physiology this semester.…

This course so far has had very little review. The most difficult topics for me have definitely been subnetting, the issue I've had here is a get it when it's binary but converting it from binary back into normal numbers is really difficult for me I think the only way for me to really get it even though I have been practicing a lot is practicing more. The pace has been okay for me but I wish there was more time between when assignments are assigned and when they are due.…

However, after completing my studies at community college, it was necessary that I attend a four-year institution to complete my degree. In contrast, the expense of attending community college was a sizable difference to attending a four-year institution.…

Over the course of this class, I have learned many new things about diet, health, and proper nutrition for a long life. Without learning these very important things, I may have just continued on my old diet, which was not healthy in the least. I have now seen a real proper diet, complete with all different food groups and everything in between. I am grateful for this class, because otherwise, I would probably still have that unhealthy diet. Nutrition taught me a lot, and I am ready now to follow all that it taught me, and I think I have the knowledge now to teach the people around me about it too.…

When I first began this class I thought that this would be just another introductory class that is required to orient you to the expectations of the particular college. Now, after completing this class, I know that this is not the case. Personal Dimensions of Learning has been a great help, not only to my school work, but also in my daily life. Before taking this class, I thought that learning, and completing daily tasks, were mostly memorizing the order of the way things are supposed to be done and just completing the task. I never liked this strategy, but it always seemed to be the most convenient way to get things done at school, home, and work.…
