There are two types of solar panels that are used one is photovoltaic and then there is solar thermal. They both work by turning the suns energy into usable energy. Geo-Exchange technology has been utilized since the late 1940’s. It is clean and efficient and renewable from natural heat inside the heat. Most states have a very hot season and a very cold season a few feet below the earth surface it is cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. Geothermal heat pumps take advantage of the temperature difference by exchange heat with earth and are able to heat and cool and even provide hot water. These systems are very expensive and this is one of the negative thing of this energy sources. Hydropower is the next one we are learning about. Hydroelectric generation use to be a stable for energy whenever there was a river or a fast-moving stream. There are a lot of Dams that are used for this some big ones like the Hoover Dam. They use more the 40% of the total U.S. hydroelectric power. Connecticut has many small ones that they use all over the state. The Bigger the drop the more energy it will produce. That is why places like Kansas there is not many Hydroelectric power. This is Connecticut’s renewable energy
