A person working at minimum wage would have no choice but to rely on government assistance such as food stamps or welfare to get by and make ends meet in life. Their income alone would not be enough for all the necessary things we need to survive, such as food, utilities, healthcare and the whole nine yards. Increasing the minimum wage could cut back on taxpayers billions of dollars because low wage workers would be making an increase in salary and would not need assistance, therefore taxpayers dollars would not go towards their needs. Minimum wage is the lowest wage paid to a worker according to the law. Minimum wage in my opinion should be increased. As a matter of fact, a living wage should be put in place instead, because it is the minimum income
