Initially, it is not moral to send someone to jail for downloading music or making them pay a ludicrous fine. Commonly, a song costs about 99 cents, which may just be a dollar, however, sometimes that is just too much. Every so often, we download it frankly because we were not able to get it onto our phones. Illegally downloaded movies happen because we want to see the movie but it is out of theaters or is not on DVD yet. If the fine is 100,000 dollars, then that is absurd and immoral. If you get caught, you should have to pay the artists that you took the music from. In America, numerous people get away with corrupt crimes and do not even get in trouble for it. Downloading a song is not hurting the artist simply because you did not spend a dollar. Unless it is a fairly unknown song, it is already getting a ton of money. Not to mention, when you listen to it for a while, you begin to fall in love with it and decide to buy it legally. One example is the movie the Lorax came out and it was uploaded to some movie website for free. It was watched about six times by one person, and then when it came out on DVD it was bought legally.
