Why People Should Be Able To Own Exotic Animals

There are many people who own and force animals like reptiles, birds, and other exotic animals, to live in unnatural homes. If someone acquires an exotic animal for entertainment, it often means he will neglect to know how to properly take care of the animal. Generally, when someone rescues an extoic animal they mean well, but they are actually taking it away from an environment that they have grown accustomed to and generally belong in, and need to let rescue organizations handle and care for exotic animals People should not be able to own exotic pets, for they belong in their natural habitats.
Owning exotic pets comes with responsibility of knowing how to take care of the animal. If one plans on acquiring an exotic pet, one needs to know the exact requirements of how to handle it. Most exotic pets follow strict guidelines on housing, diet, and maintenance that an average person is incapable of providing. If an owner decides he is not fit for caring for an exotic animal, he will look to give the animal away to a zoo or other facility. People presume that there isn’t a difference between owning a cat and a wild animal; however, cats and dogs are animal companions who depend on humans for food, shelter, and affection, where exotic animals are self sufficient and fare best without human interference (Wild Animals). Having an exotic pet can be a way of protecting endangered species which may otherwise cease to exist. People believe that saving an animal is beneficial, but if they want to save the animal they should let rescue societies take care of them. In a humane society of domesticated animals, there are more than enough animals that need a home and fit the guidelines of a citizen who wants a
