Why Organisms Need To Maintain Homeostasis

Homeostasis is the state of being in balance. It is important for the function of enzymes to maintain its equilibrium. Homeostasis refers to enzymes having stable internal conditions. Although this may sound completely beneficial, there are consequences to organisms that have suboptimal enzyme function. These consequences can include high fever or altered blood pH. Enzymes are certain proteins in the body that breaks down material as the body consumes it. The rates on enzyme activity are affected by pH, temperature, or other factors. Organisms need to maintain homeostasis and stable internal conditions. It is important that the body maintains its balance and stays healthy!
