The book The Westing Game was a slow book to read. In my opinion this book was very boring. The author wrote in a view of multiple groups and often in the view for a single person. The author had extra fluff that was not relevant to the story. For example, “J.J. Ford was the biggest tipper in Sunset Towers……

The online video The ‘Superpredator’ Scare illustrates the wave of crimes committed by youths in the 1900’s, but mainly depicts the murder of an eleven year old (Robert Sandifer aka “Yummy”) committed by the brothers Craig and Derrick Hardaway in Chicago. The video includes testimonies from criminal analysts and linguistics people to further explain the theory of “superpredators” conducted by John J.DiIulio Jr, and analyze if the study was the explanation to why youth delinquency was occurring, and could be applied to the Hardaway brothers. The term was commonly used throughout America, and DiIulio utilized it to predict that the crime rates of youths would triple through the years, only to conclude that the term “superpredator” and his prediction wasn’t accurate, which resulted in the truth that youth crimes had decreased in the 90’s.…

The very first time that I read about the terrible situations that Melba went through was when I was hooked on the book.…

It was a dark time in American history. World War II had just ended, and America was on the winning side. There should have been a great, lasting celebration of this victory, but instead the country was torn apart by fear. This fear, the fear of Communists in the U.S. became known as the Red Scare. The name was derived from the fact that Communists were often referred to as “Reds” for their supposed allegiance to the red Soviet flag (“Red Scare”).…

My first time at Cedar Point It was June 6th, 2016, the end of my eighth-grade year at TKMS, I woke up, at 5:30, jumped out of bed, got dressed, ate, and yelled at my mom to get in the car, all by 6:20. But of course we weren’t even close to ready, and we didn’t even need to leave until 7:30. So after reluctantly going back inside, to pack a spare pair of clothes, sunscreen, and our tickets (which we almost forgot), we were finally ready to go and it was already 7:40, “MOM!!!” I yelled panicking, “WE’RE GONNA BE LATE!!!” “We’re fine,” my mom said, “now calm down and say goodbye.”…

Leaders are appointed in countries and states to govern and manage the well being of the citizens. The ruling party, who primarily authorizes laws and bills, retains power. The dynamics of the political sphere is largely dependent on the power structure and form of government in the state. Authoritarianism occurs when citizens conform to extreme obedience and submission to their leaders (Altemeyer, 2006), coined as Right Wing Authoritarian (RWA) followers. North Korea, governed by the Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un, is a famous example.…

The strobing lights made it impossible to see anything. It felt as if you were having an out-of-body experience.
