Why Is John Coffey Important Or Guilty Of The Crime

8. Throughout the film the viewer is shown a variety of scenes from the past to show John Coffey’s backstory. Does the viewer need to know whether Coffey is important or guilty of the crime that he has been convicted of? Why?

The viewer needs to know that John Coffey was important to the film and was one of the main characters which had a “gift” and helped others. John Coffey was a man of peace and happiness and no he was not guilty of the crime that he had been convicted of, Wild Bill was the man who killed the two girls at the farm but Paul had no evidence to prove that John Coffey was innocent but two days before Coffey’s execution Paul goes into John Coffey’s cell to ask If he wants to be released (illegally), but John said to Paul that
