In the Bible, Proverbs 12:10 states: “"The righteous care for the needs of their animals..."” (Of Animals and Chemicals). Animals are also suffering in classrooms for the benefits of biology, (experiments and dissections). Studies show, non animal testing is more educational.
Greek doctor Galen stated the animal experiments. Four hundred years ago, William Harvey used animals to find out how blood went through the body. “An estimated 26 million animals are used every year in the United States for scientific and commercial testing” (Animal Testing). In 2010, the AWA ( Animal Welfare Act ) helped 1,134,693 animals get out of testing, which leaves around 25 million other animals that are not helped and still have to go through the testing. Without the AWA, these animals are especially vulnerable to mistreatment and …show more content…
Most of the animals die before the end of the study. With the exception of chimpanzees, who survive in research and testing but they will most likely be killed after the study is finished. Many experiments use instruments, designed to keep an animal from moving. Head and neck, legs and pelvis are some of the body parts that are immobilized. Some experiments call for the entire body to be immobilized. For example, “stress experiments” are given to rats and mice, these experiments include, sticking them into tubes and shocking their feet to see how they would react. Other experiments include, hanging them by their tails, and forcing them to swim to not
