Have you heard of Abraham Lincoln? What Abe did was he freed the slaves and he was also the president of the United States. Abraham was an important figure because he signed the Emancipation Proclamation. Where and when was Abe born you may ask. He was born February 12, 1809 in Hodgenville, Kentucky. He then died in April 15, 1865 from an assassination. Abe then grew up in the western frontier of Kentucky and India. Lincoln’s childhood was even rough his mom died when he nine years old and the factor of his family moving from Kentucky to Indiana to Illinois.
