My parents efforts in order to provide the necessities for my brother and I , is a struggle that I would not like to go through, due to what my parents had to go through. I believe that through education I will be able to have a better life and help my parents. In school I got incorporated more into STEM and from there on I knew it was something for me, I became to ask questions like…“How does that happen” especially when it came to mixing things up and seeing the outcome. I began to be very curious and that’s how it started. In 2013, my grandfather got diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and Dementia that forever changed my life. This experienced brought me closer to science and I grew to want to learn more about illness and how it works. My first love was the feeling to help others. I have always liked to help people and through STEM is the way I plan to help others. Helping others is a feeling that not everyone likes to feel or even feels. For me it’s a feeling that I am not able to describe. I currently am a Student Athletic Trainer at my high school. The feeling after knowing that I did my part in order to help that athletic be able to pour out their passion and love for their sport on to the field and/or court is undescribed. When I was younger I would always be the student to volunteer in order to help another student and still do. I know that that’s what I love to do. I highly believe that I would be an excellent candidate for your STEM academy due to my compelling interest in the STEM field, my love for STEM, and my determination to help others. My interest in STEM unimaginable and there is still more to discover and that excites me! I know that STEM is not for everyone but I like a challenge , I am very open-minded, I am always prepared and ready to learn and always willing to try new things. As a female, it’s not too common to have a female to interested in the STEM field. But I want to make a change. I would like to leave this place knowing that I contributed and did my part. I would like to improve the way we perceive things such as not “normal” as being
