It is an absolute honor and dream come true for me to be considered as a candidate for the US Army. Since deciding to channel my career in Medicine, I met every challenge with hard work, determination and dedication. After completing medical school from one of the best schools in India, I was fortunate enough to get trained in United Kingdom predominantly in Internal Medicine specialties. Even though I was working for National Health System (NHS) in England, my intentions were to get trained in United States, which practices most advanced health care in the entire world. I further secured Internal Medicine residency in one of the busiest hospital in the state of Maryland. I underwent three years of rigorous training at Medstar Franklin Square Medical Centre, which is considered one of the top programs in the state of Maryland. During my school years, I had an opportunity to watch army very closely since our town called, Secunderabad, which is a hub for army cantonment. We have many times participated with army in volunteer activities during flood relief mission, and as well as national parades on Independence Day celebrations. I was overwhelmed by the fact that army plays such a big role not only in safeguarding our borders but also in various humanitarian and peace keeping missions. I have based my life on the same principles of hard work, devotion and dedication, as does the US Army. I am very much indebted to this nation which gave me excellent medical training that I feel confident of treating sick patients anywhere. It becomes my responsibility now to provide services in return. I consider myself very lucky to have an opportunity to take care of our soldiers. The word, ‘US Army Physician’ evokes strong emotions in me, greatest service to our soldiers and gives my life a whole new
