“If I Were Mayor” Essay What is Iowa known for? Fields, corn, farming, that's it. Iowa should be known for something other than just farming, well maybe a change in its cities could help that.
Council Bluffs, isn’t really known for anything, it doesn’t have tourists, or visitors, unless you count people from other cities in Iowa. A mayor could change this, A mayor could make Council Bluffs a place where people would go out of there way to visit. While more and more people are coming, and shopping, and spending money, they are giving Council Bluffs more and more tax money, which we can then use to make Iowa a better place.

If you ever go to Balas Park or the public library you can see a wide variety of homeless people who hang out in these places so they can have a nice shady, cool place to spend in the summer, and in the winter, they can go in the library and be warm from the chilly weather. If there were more homeless shelters, then these poor people would have the food and shelter that they, never deserved to be taken from them. We could help these people get back on their feet, so they could try and get a job. This would benefit Council Bluffs, because our city is in need of job takers, and it would help Council Bluffs look cleaner and much more like a community.
