Why I Deserve A Scholarship

My names is Gabriela Chapa, I'm twenty years old and I'm a proud student of Laredo community college. Being at school is a combination of study, efforts and sacrifices. Once you have all these three you can considered yourself as a good student. However, to be an excellent student you need to see great results, and that's what I saw on me. I deserve this scholarships because my journey it hasn't be easy, despite of all my difficulties, now I can see the result of all my efforts. For me, a new day is a new challenge where I have to go through variety of things to achieve my goals. To begin with, I wake up every day at 6:00 am, two hours before my first class starts. I don't have a car, so I have to use the boss to go to the places I need, especially at school. Even when this is something that I get tired to do, I do it every single day just to get what I want; my education. I hear a lot of students complaining about waking up …show more content…
Working at the office of student life has helped me develop my communication, and leadership skills. I work immediately after classes for 4 hours a day, spending my whole day at LCC. Most of time a barely have time to make dinner, study or make homework. During my time working I have learned a lot about LCC and that I can gladly help other students in need of help. I enjoy my work every day, and I'm always open to news activities. I considered myself as hard working person, and I'm glad to have this amazing opportunity. As result, of all my efforts and sacrifices I earned a place in the Dean's List at LCC. This is something that I'm really proud of myself to. To have a GPA of 4.0 it can be hard, but no impossible. It is an honor to me be consider for this scholarship, this is another motivation to keep my grades and begin an excellent student.
