Why I Choose Basketball History?

Decent Essays
Inside of class for my 20 time project I mostly read books and looked up things. Outside of class I watched videos and worked on my poster for my final presentation. The reason I chose basketball history was to be able to learn more about the game and it’s history. I also picked this topic because I really love basketball and I’ve been playing it since I was three so I have grown to like a lot. Another reason I chose this is because one day I hope to play college basketball. One thing I was hoping to learn from doing this project was to see which team won the most championships and I did find that it is the Boston Celtics. I found this answer be reading some books and looking up facts about the Boston Celtics.

Alonzo Mourning, Dikembe Mutombo, Patrick Ewing, David Robinson, Shaquille O’neal, Hakeem Olajuwon: What these six former NBA players share aside from their intimidating stature and hall of fame status is that, unbeknownst to them (and a vast majority of NBA fans and analysts as well for that matter), they would be the last of their kind in the NBA for the foreseeable future. Each player’s exit from the league brought us one step closer to the end of an era in the NBA; an era that was not only dominated by big men, but an era that simply utilized traditional center play in the very least. Now for the reader without sufficient knowledge of the game of basketball and the NBA and its history, traditionally, one of the biggest needs for…

When I tried out for the basketball team during the winter of my freshman year, I hadn't even considered the possibility of not making the team. Before that year, I had played on travel and middle school teams. I knew that I wasn't the best player on the court, but I scored a few points a game, and I played decent defence. For the duration of the tryout practices, I thought that I was doing well, but apparently the coach did not consider me a good fit for the team. After a meeting with the coach on the last day of tryouts, I was forced to go home with a heavy heart and a tight stomach.…
