These are some of the questions that circulate through the mind of a busy high schooler on a daily basis. High school can be one of the best times, but it can also be one of the most stressful. Being a currently enrolled high school student, I have a lot of experience with bad times due to stress. High school prepares students for life outside the classroom in many ways. The list of opportunities varies from activities as conventional as football and band to actives out of the ordinary like fencing or surfing. Losing sleep because of an extracurricular is another issue among students. Once a student finishes their activity and schoolwork they will have very little time to sleep before they have to get up and start another day. Getting no sleep can result in not being able to focus in class which can …show more content…

Taking care of younger children and caring for their needs can be a very demanding job. Driving younger siblings’ places and helping them with their school work while still trying to control their own work can be extremely hectic for a high school student. Also, family conflicts can cause stress for a high schooler. Having to listen to parents fight can immediately destroy a persons mood. Equally, getting into their own fight with a parent could ruin ones mood for the rest of the day. Having family issues can make a student less focused in school because it would still be on their mind. Also, family conflict can cause a student to lash out and have anger issues to the people around them.
