Why General Orders Are Important Essay

Improved Essays
To first explain why or how my general orders are important to me I must relay the

purpose of the General Orders, which is to basically outline tasks, accountability, and

responsibility for a soldier. The first General Order issues the command to secure everything

within the limits of my post and quit my post if and on if properly relieved. What this is saying is

once an NCO give me PV2 Bates an order, then it is my swore duty to carry out that task to the

best of my ability. The simplest way I know the first General Order would be disrespected is not

understanding or ignoring proper communication with my chain of command. In other words I

should stay in my lane and try to the best of my abilities to complete the mission at hand and not

I would also assist myself more as a

soldier if I were to be more considerate of what information I don’t understand and going

through my chain of command for assistance rather than fucking up and learning from mistakes.

I must understand that it is okay to ask for help rather than walking around daytime with a

blindfold trying to look at the moon. All in all my General Orders are to keep me safe, proficient

and a highly disciplined soldier. Neglecting any part of this would show that I am not keeping up

on my end as a soldier. Which is why I plan on writing what needs to be done out, asking

questions when I don’t know something, and changing some small daily habits to become a

better and more effective soldier for my family, friends, and community. Some things I could

start by doing is getting up at 6am every morning. Doing this I feel that I will have enough time

to plan my entire day out and make time for any unexpected changes life may throw at me, that

way I will at least be prepared for it. Another simple but major life change I would do is have my

clothes out the night before that way my clothes will already be ready to go instead of thinking

Respect for your subordinates, peers, seniors and officers are highly regarded. Respect begets respect… in the civilian world. But usually in the military, anyone who has a higher rank than what you are wearing, respect is expected, not that respect is not expected for you to give if they are of the same rank or a lower rank but because they have earned the rank and respect is due. No matter how crooked, bent or unorganized you think he is, you are expected to give respect and act accordingly, otherwise anyone challenging the authority of a non-commissioned officer or his seniors is legally punished and reprimanded.…

Responsibility increases when soldiers believe that they have personal control over their mission performance, performing out of desire to do well instead of just following orders. There have been many studies that have suggested that when a Soldier feels that they have personal control over work performance the result is that the Soldier has a better task performance, better problem solving, a higher persistence in accomplishing the task, more positive emotions and even better psychological and physical health. Responsibility and accountability are two of the main factors in being a successful Soldier in today’s U.S. Army. You must be a responsible soldier if you want to make it through deployment alive. Or even worse, if you fail to be responsible you could risk someone else’s life or your entire squad’s…

When a task is given out it is expected to be completed before moving on to the next task so that all aspects of the mission can be completed effectively and without fail. As a soldier it is my obligation to not only complete the task, but to report back to higher on its status, proving to my chain of command my current level of competency. It is a failure for not properly completing the tasks or not promptly notifying my chain of command when I am unable to complete a task in the time allotted. It is my obligation to ensure that I improve myself in all areas working to become more proficient and efficient in my duties. If I do not properly follow the orders of my Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) it could be seen as disrespect, failure to follow orders, and in turn that NCO may lose respect for my ability’s as a…

Taoism contrary to Confucianism, my Interpretation with Smart’s Seven Dimensions of Religion The comparisons between these two religions are analogous at best, similar in many aspects, yet, different in many facets of history, rituals, and even the creators of each religion. Even though, Confucianism does not believe in a God, per se, but rather, philosophical beliefs in the person themselves and what one makes of their life, through the unifying interactions of yin and yang. Taoism, also known as Daoism, does not have a fully recognized God, similar to Lao Tzu, who is revered by some, others, a majority, believes in the many differing Gods that serve a specific purpose, essentially, prayers are offered to specific deities based on circumstance.…
