Why Do You Think Franklin Crabbe Runs Away From Home

Franklin Crabbe is a misunderstood teen being under the control of his parents and being told Constantly what do with his life and has no say in his decision making such as at home he is always being What to do by his parents and is done with his mom and dad planning anything and everything for him. So to prove his point he runs away from home, "I've thought a lot why I ran away from home and it's still pretty tough to put my reasons into a couple tidy sentences." (18) What is means is that Crabbe had multiple reasons for running away from his home but had no idea where to begin.At this point in the novel, Crabbe's personality is in a depressed state and also infuriated with the people around him because they are not letting live his life the way he wants to. " I was sick of my life and already sick of the future that everybody had planned out for me but nobody bothered to consult me about."(19) Crabbe is aggravated by the fact that he can't do things for himself and that he wants to make his own choices for his own future. …show more content…
"And listen, Crabbe if you've got a good reason to feel good about yourself and you do-then do it.You don’t need anybody's permission" (89) what this is saying is that now Crabbe is more aware of his choices and what they could lead
