Throughout the text used there are many images. In an effort to assist in summarization and, application of vocabulary, this strategy allows the student to create their own captions. The students will use information from the text and, write a unique caption that mirrors the image. This allows students to identify main ideas, be creative, summarize and relate to the text. This strategy will build understanding of new language and allow for future analysis. Additionally, the students will be able to effectively participate in class discussions.
