Why Do I Value Diversity?

Improved Essays
As an individual, I value diversity because it keeps the world from becoming a colorless and mundane place. Diversity is crucial within society because it allows us to be inspired and glean life lessons and perspectives from other’s experiences and backgrounds. One instance where diversity has inspired me is within my daycare job. One of the little girls who I care for named Kate, has prosthetic legs, yet she is the most energetic, outgoing, persevering, and confident child you would ever meet. While Kate may be different, she embraces her diversity with a positive attitude. I think that if society had more of a childlike mind and embraced our differences, the world would be a happier place. Individuals would be more accepting of differences
