A global supply manager, Paul Devine, is accused of accepting more than $1 million dollars. The brib was spread out of years. He received these kickbacks accessories for Apple products. Devine appeared on federal court and is facing 27 charges including five money laundering and wire fraud. Devine breached his contract with Apple, therefore Apple filed a separate civil lawsuit.

A South Korean company, Cresyn, which makes earphones and headsets, revealed that they hired Devine as a consultant to receive information about consumer trends in the US. (The Guardian)

Devin is currently in custody and will reappear in court. The judge is deciding on whether to grant his bail or not. In December 2015 there was a terrorist attack in San Bernardino, California. This attacked kill 14 people and injured 22. The two attackers later died in a shootout with the police, after they had destroyed their personal phones. One Iphone 5C was recovered from the shooters, but there was no way to access it. If the pass code was guessed wrong, after 10 times, the phone would erase everything. So this led the FBI wanting Apple to create software that would be able to unlock these devices. (Wiki)
Apple refused to create software that would unlock the phone. There was a hearing scheduled for this case. There was a delay in the case hearing due to the government being able to get a third party to attempt to help them unlock the Iphone. On March 28th, the FBI announced that the Iphone was unlocked and the request for the software from Apple was withdrawn.
