Fifth is a distracted driver can be at-risk on the highway. The first thing a novice driver taught is to keep your eyes on the road (Berger, 2010). As a matter of fact, distraction is one of the top leading that cause motor vehicle collision. On an average, it only takes about five seconds to read or send a text. Surprise, five seconds do not seem like it is not a lot of time, but in that span of time, the driver traveling at 55 miles per hour can drive the length of a football field. Instantly, a driver’s life can lose their lives or seriously injured due to their negligent including nearby drivers. The death toll for distracted driving is 3,477 people killed on America’s roads in 2015 (Berger, 2010).
