One reason why the Vatican survived the Renaissance is because of the Roman Catholic Church. The biggest Christian church in the world and where the beloved Pope Francis preaches. Though through the Renaissance the church has suffered and made up things they shouldn’t have. They have had many followers though. The Roman Catholic Church stayed strong and with that the Vatican had one supporting hand. Today many catholic churches give donations and see the Vatican with importance. Also in the medieval times going into the reformation the church sold indulgences to the people and they got a lot of money from that to keep the church and their city going.
