Islam is a very invasive religion that began in 610 C.E.. These documents say that the man who discovered Islam is named Muhammad. Muhammad traveled to a cave outside of Mecca in Arabia to meditate.There, the archangel gabriel appeared and gave Muhammad words to recite (otherwise known as Islam). Why did Islam spread so quickly? The definition of Islam means “words of Allah”. By asking “so quickly”, it asks why so many people became followers of Islam right now. As shown in Document D and F, Muslims had the “power of Allah” they called it, which helped them defeat Byzantine army. They believe the power of Allah is shown by their victories. By saying that Allah was responsible for all their victory, it gave others reason to believe and convert. The third reason that Islam is spreading so quickly is because of their beliefs. As stated in Document B, the first paragraph, “Those who submit to God and accept the true faith; who are devout, sincere, patient, humble, charitable, and chaste; who fast and are mindful of God-on these, both men and women, God will bestow forgiveness and rich recompense”.
