Why Be A Class Secretary Essay

I want to run for class secretary for a multitude of reasons. In general; however, I feel that I am the best person to represent our class in this position. I am not the most popular but I am very passionate about serving my class as secretary. The secretary is responsible for taking the notes at meetings and dealing with general paperwork. My method of organization and my creativity helps me to do well in my classes. Being organized will help me to keep all my notes in check. Good note taking will make it easier to go back and look at ideas from previous meetings this will allow for better activities for our sophomore class. A secretary needs to be driven, organized, and established. Someone who will carry out their duties and make sure that the other officers remember what they want to achieve. I was involved in newspaper at my middle school where I held the position of technician. Assigning articles, setting up the layout of the paper, proofreading and reminding the members of their deadlines were some of the jobs I had while in this position. Also I was a volleyball captain my 8th grade year for my school and I am currently a captain for my club team. As captain I help my team to focus during practices and games and to make sure that we are always working together to achieve our goals. I hope to be secretary so that I can help my class and listen to their needs. I want to hear from the students about what their concerns are and what they want to be changed. Just because someone is not on student council it does not mean they shouldn’t have a say. The student council is not only for students to be able to say they are apart of it.
