Political parties and interest groups play important roles in our government. Both of these groups are organized groups of people working toward specific goals and both promote politicians and raise money to accomplish those goals. I believe that interest groups has more of an impact in inflecting elections. In the video it states that smaller interest groups are more organized making then more capable of focusing power. This increases their ability to persuade and or influence others.

Interest groups allow Americans to have input on issues that they really care about and want to change. They allow that input to be brought to the politicians’ attention all the time, not just at election time. In these ways, they make for more democracy. For instance the NAACP made many Americans more informed about the issues and influenced equal rights.

I think that political action committees are just as guilty and corrupted when it comes to impacting election within our democracy. The candidate that is more like to win PACS help them with supplying them with money in order to increase their influence on voters.
