An Analysis of Three Things that Contributed to Macbeth’s Downfall in Macbeth With every tragedy there is always a downfall of a particular character. With a tragedy, there could be multiple reasons as to why that character underwent a tragic downfall. Sometimes there could be one reason as to why a character suffers a downfall. Most of the time, there are multiple reasons as to why a character will suffer from a downfall. Whenever a character reaches a tragic downfall either the character is killed, or they lose everything that they previously had. In the play, Macbeth, the main character Macbeth suffers from a tragic downfall. Macbeth lost both everything and was killed, Macbeth lost the respect and honor he had, he lost Lady Macbeth to suicide, and he lost his spot on the throne. It seems that, no matter in a play or in real life, the bad guy gets jacked. Even if that bad guy has a lot of followers and people that admire him, such as Hitler. If someone is truly pure evil justice will be served eventually. Hitler was killed late into the war, and justice was served. In the play Macbeth, even though Macbeth was the main character, he was the evil person in the play. Since Macbeth was clearly the evil guy in the play, Macbeth got jacked, and rightfully so. Justice was served in both of those situations. Sometimes, it seems, once you cross the line, you can never return. Whether it be trying an addictive drug for the first time and getting hooked onto it for the rest of your life, or if you’re in Macbeth’s position. Once you cross that boundary, there is no going back. Often times, whenever this happens in modern day society, that person would go to jail for a long period of time.
