Primary Source 1:
• The first primary source is that of a painting by Hans Holbein, a painter from Germany
What I learned from the source: I learned that in these times from 1509 to 1547 paintings were important to the folklore to resemble their King as high royalty and someone chose from God and so it was of great importance that Kings were portrayed as strong, divine royalty.

What I learned from this source:
• I learned that King Henry did not agree with complicated religion and refused to carry on with the complicated social and religious ordeals that the Roman Catholic Church would carry out back then.
I gained an understanding as to why King Henry implemented such religious policies as he was very drawn to the Protestant teaching of God and not of the Roman catholic Church. He also did not like the fact that the Roman church had so many sacraments and traditions to their holy celebrations and reduced them because he felt it was unnecessary.
