• What role has writing played in your life? Describe your relationship to writing and language.
Since very young, the tendency to write was evident in my life. At the age of 10, I was already trying to write small stories and poems in my native language, Continental Portuguese. Back then, the access to education was difficult and expensive, in a country more preoccupied with its overseas possessions in Africa, than with its political agenda on education. Hence I wrote describing my frustration, hoping for better days to come. However, when they did come, it was too late for me. Nonetheless, I have developed an intrinsic relationship with the action of writing. That was my sword with which I could conquer the unfair situations and actions which push the majority of the population to the ghetto of darkness. At the time I am referring to, I was writing in Portuguese. With my change of residence to Canada, I was compelled to use the English language much more and …show more content…
I cannot say that I ever had a bad experience when I am writing, which involves composing and creating, having in mind the important reflection after reaching the end of the work. Therefore, I can honestly say that all writing moments of my life have been happy ones, because I believe it is fun to write, especially when creativeness is challenging my mind. That established, when this course was offer through edX, and after becoming aware what it has to offer, I have enrolled because I feel it can help me perfecting the way I interpret and see the action of
