Although there have been many wars throughout history, the Civil War has been the most significant in the United States. The Civil War lasted between the years 1861-1865 and started between a disagreement between the North and South on slavery, economical and political differences. Because of these differences, South states seceded from the U.S and became the Confederate States of America. Eventually the South decided to attack Fort Sumter and start the Civil War between the Union in North and the Confederates in South. The Civil War was a battle between families, during the Civil War, there were about 10,000 engagements and military actions, making it a war with more action than people originally thought.
