Emotionally based opinions are not worthy of respect. Free expression is fine, but just because someone shouts something out, it doesn’t mean that there are facts behind it. I will respect them as a person for expressing their own opinion, but if it is just something out of their head, no, it is not worthy of respect. For example, if two people are having an argument of social media, and only one person is being reasonable, then the other person is arguing for no absolute reason. When people fight over social media, I find it extremely irrelevant because they are expressing how they feel about something, but just to start drama or something. Then again, I understand that people may go emotional sometimes, and yes sometimes I may respect them but only if its reasonable. Like, I can and will always respect a person. Even if sometimes their opinions are irrelevant to the topic. I know I would want people to respect my opinions but then again, I am not just saying opinions out of the blue with all emotion. …show more content…
If a person repeatedly says factually correct opinions then it is worthy of my respect, because they are expressing something to me that is true. If I am the one asking their opinion, then it will be resected because they are being truthfully honest. Honest opinions are well worth respect, but if they are factually true opinions then they are automatically worth respect, because sometimes you think “Oh is this true?” and then you decide whether it is worthy of respect. I will just not respect an opinion fully based on emotion. Emotional opinions are just not relevant to anything. You can’t win an argument with an opinion based on emotion, you just can’t.
