TJ Smith, the Chief Media Relations of Baltimore City Police Department gave an interesting and informative speech. He talked about the many tasks he has to do at his job and the different and crucial situations as well as the ethical dilemmas he has had to face.
One of the most critical ethical dilemmas that Mr. Smith mentioned was the “Releasing body on camera footage”, in this case the Baltimore City Police received a call because a 1 year old and a 4 year old kid were held hostage by a man, who presumably was their father. The kids were at knifepoint and the police believed that the man was under the influence of drugs.
The police was negotiating with the man, but he wasn’t giving in and it was a life or death situation, so the SWAT team
