Ray Bradbury’s novel, Fahrenheit 451, talks about a society that is fast paced that is very different than what we are used to. Guy Montag had it along with most of the characters. Guy Montag went through a period of time that he had stolen books and was reading them but was still afraid of what they might do to him. Especially when Captain Beatty confronted him about the books he was keeping. Bradbury described like this, “Montag sat still as if the house were collapsing about him and he could not move in the bed” (Bradbury 62). Montag was so afraid of the government that he was shaking and felt as if the house was going to collapse on him.
