Programed Cell death is what mutated cells go through to get rid of them from the body. But cancer cells do not go through programed cell death they skip it, that is why cancer is so deadly because the body doesn’t realize that it is cancerous till its too late. For example leukemia and lymphomas are cancers of the blood and the blood-forming tiissues and the cells of a persons immune system (Merck2009). Since these cancers are in the blood and affect blood vessels a persons body cant identify that they are cancerous because each person has cells called “ Marker Cells”. Marker cells are cells that detect viruses, bacteria, or different type of diseases, which they then help fight off the infection. Now cancer cells are different they cannot be detected by these marker cells, and the body takes them as a normal white blood cell. The cancer cells slowly kill the normal functioning cells, and replacing them with cancerous cells. Until they are either killed by chemotherapy, or radation, and in the worst cases the person can no longer fight and they end up
