The first-person shooter has been one of the most popular video game genres of the decade. First person shooter video gaming was first introduced in the 1970's with titles such as Maze War and Spasim. First person shooter video gaming started to rise in popularity in the 1990's. id software released its first successful title Wolfenstein 3D in 1992. First person shooter video games allow players to experience the game in a first person perspective. First-person shooters played on computers are usually managed with a keyboard and mouse. First-person shooters played on gaming consoles are most often played using two analog sticks. One of the most popular first-person shooter video games was GoldenEye 007.
