The big question is whether students are being taught the necessary tools to be a functional and contributing member of life. Is the testing procedure adequate? The problem is, experts don’t always agree are what is right and proper and what is the easiest way to get the task accomplished in the quickest way. It is truly all about perspective, and how to get peers to all be on the same page. Nodding states “The need for standards is very connected to the perceived failure of the public school system”. There definitely is a problem in what is taught as a opposed to how the educators test what students have learned. The gist of the matter is that perhaps those who write the textbooks are not responsible for the testing part. We have a general failure to communicate about it.
