Performance-enhancing drugs (PED’s) have been around for centuries and used by many different sports and athletes. As the incentives grow bigger, athletes turn to PED’s more for helping them strive to be the absolute best at their position. In recent years more athletes have been suspended for the use of PED’s; from college to the pros, athletes have had penalties for the use of steroids to stimulants. Certain PED’s should be legal, because of the benefits to athletes, the ability to control the usage of PED’s, and the opportunity for testing, PED’s benefit an athlete by building muscle…

The side effects and risks of these drugs outweigh the positives of drugs so this is why I think they should not be used in athletics or any situation. The use of drugs in athletics is also not fair to the person you are competing against it’s like saying okay the soccer team of sixth graders is going to play a game against the soccer team of seniors I mean how is that fair. Also if the use of drugs were allowed in sports then everyone would do it and if everyone did it then everyone would be big in muscle and if everyone was big in muscle then everyone would still have the same chance at winning as before so what is the point in doing them in the first place. On average In the Olympics 1 out of every 100 participants are stripped of medals or suspended from the games. Meldonium is a performance enhancing drug banned recently from the Olympics because it brings higher amounts of oxygen to muscle tissue this helps with endurance which is key for an athlete to succeed.…
