Edward Snowden was a computer specialist. He once was part of the Central Intelligence Agency and NSA. Edward Snowden exposed many and different types of top secret documents to the media like The Washington Post and The Guardian. However, about two NSA surveillance programs were carried out by the United States government (Barrett, 2015). One of the NSA programs involved mobile data throughout the United States including numbers, amount of time during a call, and location of phone calls. However, while Snowden claims to be a hero, many people are saying he committed treason and is trader to the United States. A Speaker of the House John Boehner, had made a direct statement to Edward Snowden and the public after hearing about the documents that Snowden had released, “Americans are at risk. It shows…our capabilities… and it’s a giant violation of the law,” (Woodard, 2016). After Snowden released and exposed NSA documents to the public he said, “I can’t…allow the U.S. government to destroy privacy, Internet freedom and basic liberties for people around the world…”. This statement proves he exposed the government with good intensions for his people and allow them to have inside information, so they can be
