“Accreditation is usually a voluntary program in which trained external peer reviewers evaluate a healthcare organization's compliance and compare it with pre-established performance standards. The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of accreditation programs on the quality of healthcare services.” The purpose of accreditation is to help healthcare organizations demonstrate their ability to meet regulatory requirements, standards, and improve quality outcomes.The organizations involved in granting accreditation are the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), the Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC), and the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).
