The goals and objectives are not clearly stated but it became very clear that the objectives include: engagement with each other and initiating conversation. The clinician successfully achieves these goals by providing an activity for the children to engage in but still allowing them to take initiation. The clinician reacts to almost every comment the children make in order to promote engagement between the two clients. By allowing the children to take control of the session he provides them with practice initiating conversations.

He never allows the conversation to go completely off task but in order to fulfill the objectives, he must allow the children to take initiation. A great example of this is when Christian ask about quarters and the clinician allows the conversation to shift towards what Christian is interested in talking about, yet still keeping Olivia engaged as well. When the children become too off task the clinician touches the children on the arm or begins a new activity in order to center the conversation again.

The children are very active during the entire therapy session and the clinician provides constant activities in order to keep up with the fast pace. The clinician alternates between literacy-based activities and play-based activities, which allows for a smooth and meaningful flow.
