Diversity in the World around Me “We are not supposed to all be the same, feel the same, think the same, and believe the same. The key to continued expansion of our Universe lies in diversity, not in conformity and coercion. Conventionality is the death of creation.”(Maarten, 2012)
That is a very interesting question “what does diversity mean to me?” I have always embraced diversity. I think diversity gives you an opportunity to gain wisdom and broaden your perspective on life. Being exposed to different cultures enriches the soul. It gives you the ability to learn about other countries, and learn different ways of doing things. What it means for me is the ability to continue to grow as a person and become more knowledgeable about different cultures in the world around me.

“Stereotyping and prejudice” different cultures are categorized by other as being incompetent of doing the job correctly or being able to handle the responsibility and knowledge of how to be a leader. “Ethnocentrism” where one culture believes they are superior to another. The company “policies and practices” have not been developed to embrace diversity but to exclude it thus, denying equal opportunity for everyone. “Glass Ceiling” is discrimination based your gender and nationality and not receiving promotions within in the company. Also there is “unfriendly work environment” where those who are from different cultures feel left out, and if they do not
