What barriers or potential barriers do you have in using critical thinking skills in nursing practice?
- Having an unresponsive patient or a patient with disability who can’t give you proper information verbally as to what symptoms they may be feeling pain. I can only go by vital signs and visual assessment to gather information.
How do these barriers influence your ability to make clinical decisions?
- I cannot accurately assess if the patient is nauseated, in pain, or their emotional status after receiving chemotherapy. Therefore I can’t have a proper care plan for her.
