At this point more group members will begin to share their ideas and push creative boundaries. Conflicts will arise, particularly between the group’s more assertive members. Differing work styles will cause frustration and tension between staff (Mind Tools, n.d.). Those that don’t agree with the goals set out might resist taking on jobs and do a mediocre job of the tasks they do complete, resulting in an imbalance of workloads and at times a below average end product. The leader should establish group processes, support and listen to all team member contributions, assist in resolving conflicts quickly, show a positive outlook and vision to motivate the team to achieve objectives set out in stage one, and help the team to understand the strengths of different working …show more content…
The same goes for those who enjoy and are comfortable with routine. This stage will be especially difficult if what comes next seems unclear. The team should celebrate their achievements - this positive conclusion will be of benefit if the team is to work together again. While some team members are pleased with the results, some might be more pleased and even relieved that the experience is over and they won’t have to work directly with this team
