After learning about the Enlightenment, the American Revolution, the French Revolution, and Napoleon, they all consists of many similarities. As to ideas, theories, leaders, and social classes. The Enlightenment occurred in the 18th century. It was influenced by the Scientific Revolution. During the Scientific Revolution, Europeans discarded traditional beliefs. The Age of Reason known as the Enlightenment basically swooped in to give the people the right to their beliefs, they were able to think for themselves rather that follow the church, Greek philosophers, or other sources that were supposably true. John Locke, Voltaire, Thomas Hobbes, Baron de montesquieu, and Jean Jacques Rousseau, were all Enlightenment thinkers. They all had different ideas and tried to explain the reason of governments. The American Revolution lasted from 1775- 1783. The revolution was a time the British colonist in America rebelled against the rule of great britain. There were 13 colonies that rebelled because not all the colonies participated in the revolution. The high taxes divided people into three social large classes(estates). The first estate were the clergy, who were people, including priests, who ran both the Catholic church and some aspects of the country, they collected taxes from the third estate. The second estate consisted of the nobility of France, including members of the royal family, except for the King. Members of the Second Estate did not have to pay any taxes, they collected taxes from the third estate also. The third estate was made up of everyone else, from peasants to farmers. This was the bigger estate. In 1776 a group of people in the third estate rebelled against those who were at the top, and they
