Sports that are coed are engaged at a more leisure rate for males but a swifter rate for females. The pace of coed sports help to implement responsible playing, therefore reducing the injury rate. An article written on the ban of coed games stated, “the Roman Catholic Diocese of Harrisburg in Pennsylvania has adopted a policy requiring boys on its school wrestling team to forfeit matches against female opponents” (Pilon 1). Forcing athletes to resign to diminish the risk of injury is unfair and teaches children to give up; leaving the male to feel superior to females.
