The American Revolution started on April 19 1775. By 1775 tensions started growing between the American colonies and British government it started to reach the breaking point. Patriot leaders started training militias to prepare for war with the British troops. General Thomas Gage who was the British governor of Massachusetts he was ordered to take hold of all stores with weapons and gunpowder that was available to the Americans. On April 18 British governor of Massachusetts General Thomas Gage commanded the British troops to march against the patriot arsenal at Concord and capture the patriot leaders John Hancock and Samuel Adams thought to be hiding out at Lexington.
