Many poor people were getting sick much easier than the middle class and wealthy. This is because the staple foods were not genetically modified, but the more expensive foods were. Now that we have been genetically modifying food, we can take out the bad nutrients, and put in the food (Bouis). A downside to genetic modification one could argue that it is unnatural. Genetic modification is not the only way to make the plants and animals healthier. Another way to handle this is selective breeding, where one plant or animal is closer to the wanted plant or animal, so they breed it to make another generation of the plant or animal. It is more natural and safer for the animals. Its weakness though, is that it takes much longer and the wanted result will not always come out. Especially in animals, they might not change at all because all of the cows and bulls on the farm have very similar DNA. This highly debated issue has a clear better side.
