The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens by Sean Covey is a recipe for success. It helps teens to stay on track to live a successful life. Habits are things people do repeatedly. Some habits are good, and some habits are bad. The 7 habits of highly effective teens are examples of good habits. Being Proactive is taking responsibility for your life. The next habit is Begin with the End in Mind. It is defining your mission and goals in life. Putting First Things First is about learning to prioritize so that your first things come first. Thinking Win-Win is your attitude towards life. It says that you can win, but so can everyone else. Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood is listening first and talking second. Synergize is working together to create a better solution. Lastly, Sharpen the Saw is about keeping your personal self sharp, and regularly renewing yourself. These 7 habits are a guide to help teens make tough decisions, take responsibility, make goals, increase self-confidence, be happy, and much more. It helps you defeat the Private and Public victory. Beginning with the End in Mind is part of the process of taking control of my life. It is necessary to Begin with the End in Mind because the paths you choose today can shape your future. If you think about the future you will learn how to make smarter decisions that can shape your life. To implement this into my life, I plan to make a personal mission statement, or motto that states what my life is about, and follow it. After having my mission in place, I plan to make smart goals.
