A giraffes diet is composed of just leaves, seeds, bushes, and flowers. They obtain most of their water from the leaves they which means they can go a long period of time before re-hydrating. They can spend up to 16 to 20 hours a day eating and consume at least 75 pounds of food a day. They also chew cud which is food that come back from their stomach for a second chewing. They also have a four-chambered stomach much like cows do. Because they spend so much time eating, they often sleep only minutes at a time every few
